The unique character of Haifa is due to its being home to Christians, Moslems, Bahai , Druze and  Jews  living side by side in tolerance and mutual respect.Touring may include an art route that displays dozens of Jewish and Arab artists; the taste of Wadi Nisnas including samplings of traditional foods like knafeh, baklava and olesh; the German Colony giving a short history of the Christian Templar settlement amid beautiful historic gardens; the magnificent Bahai Gardens; the Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery where traditionally the Prophet Elijah fought the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel); Elijah’s Cave that holds religious significance for Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze alike as the place the prophet Elijah lived. Akko has hosted Apostles Luke and Paul, Marco Polo,  King Richard the Lionhearted,  King Louis IX of France, Maimonides and Napoleon, among others.  Tour its ancient walls, the Knights Hall and Templars Tunnel; the Hamam al-Basha (a Turkish bath) and the Underground Prisons Museum built over a Crusader fortress.   Akko is home to religious sites such as the Al-Jazzar Mosque, Bahai Gardens , the Tunisian synagogue, the international Sufi Center and historical  churches. We finish in one of Akko’s famous markets with its pungent smells, exotic aromas and bright colors.
